The winding of the paper in reels on the rewinder occurs on two supporting rolls controlled by electric motors and an idle upper roll which presses on the paper controls the increase in diameter of the reel.
The paper web, throughout the process, is followed by guide and spreader rolls, the first to control the paper tension the second to equally spread the paper and avoid air bubbles which decrease the stability of the reel.
The paper goes through the cutting unit which has various blades which allow to obtain reels with different diameters. The number of blades depends on the width to be obtained. The positioning of the blades can be manually or automatically.
The reels are removed from the supporting rolls by means of an expulsion roll which can be controlled manually or automatically. The reels are lowered in a "crib" which rotates to position the reels on the floor.
The reels can be of one or more plies. An unwinder needs to be supplied for every ply requested.
